Sage is a Nigerian Dwarf goat with a unique story of freedom and independence. She originally lived in someone's home and yard, and over time, her family came to understand that Sage thrived best when given space and autonomy to roam as she pleased.

When Sage joined Sunshine Farm Sanctuary, she brought that same independent spirit with her. She's not one to be confined — Sage prefers to roam the sanctuary grounds freely, enjoying the open spaces and the ability to explore on her own terms. Remarkably, despite having full access to the property, Sage has never shown any desire to wander to the road or escape. She seems to understand that the sanctuary is her home.

Though small in stature as a Nigerian Dwarf, Sage has a big personality. She's observant, thoughtful, and carries herself with quiet confidence. She's content in her own company but also enjoys the peaceful presence of the other goats when they cross paths.

Sage is a testament to the sanctuary's philosophy — that every animal deserves the freedom to be themselves. She lives proof that true happiness often comes from being able to choose one's own path.
